We
are going to have battles but Meyer assures us we are in a place
where we have victory in Christ. “When we let God fight our
battles, we always win...” (Loc 73/3383) God will fight our battles
for us, Meyer says, but we must do our part. She has written this
book to help us know our enemy, his nature, his tactics, how to
recognize and defeat him and to know our responsibilities in assuring
the victory.
What
I like most about Meyer is that she is so practical. She wants us to
be educated and equipped. It is no surprise that she writes about the
importance of our thoughts, keeping them in line with what God says
is true of us. We are to take our thoughts captive and I like that
she is realistic in saying this takes time and effort. She reminds us
of the spiritual battles before us and helps us understand how to use
our spiritual weapons, such as the armor of God.
Meyer
is so encouraging and so positive. Reading this book, even though it
is on the battles we face, is really faith building. Her stories are
encouraging and her exploration of Scripture is accurate. I like that
she relies so much on the truth of God's Word.
I
recommend this book to Christians who want to understand more about
the battles we face and how to put ourselves in a place of victory.
Meyer gives us the tools we need to use to see victory. “No matter
how difficult our challenges are,” she writes, “if God is with
us, we have all we need to win every battle.” (Loc 64/3383)
