My Review:

This is a good inspirational suspense set in the West Virginia mining hills. There is good suspense, especially at the end. Furlong explores the desperation some might feel from mines closing. Several other issues are present in this novel, including growing through grief, dealing with PTSD, and what gives ongoing meaning in one's profession. There is a subtle faith message.

Furlong has given readers a good contemporary murder mystery and cold case combination. Her writing style is such that the plot pace keeps one turning pages. There are good twists and a well done budding romance. I recommend this good mystery set in an interesting location.

My rating: 4/5 stars.
