Getting
old, hitting retirement, you might think your work for the Lord is
over. No so says these four sisters. Your work is not over until the
Lord calls you home. And being retired just means you have more time
and energy to devote to the kingdom.
With
doses of humor and insight, these women encourage readers to keep
serving, keep cheering, and keep praying. They tell some of the
funniest stories with really good lessons as a result. One sister
participated in a donkey basketball game but her donkey refused to budge
from the sidelines. Another received an insight from the Lord from
her persistently digging beagle. And then there was the time one's
husband was strip searched by the TSA (hip replacements). They have a
way with words. Putting makeup on, one says, it takes twice as long
to look half as good. (516/1523)
This
is a great book for senior Christians who refuse to be put on the
shelf. Don't go into old age without a fight, these women encourage.
Their stories are fun and their lessons are so encouraging. If you
want a good laugh and tons of encouragement to keep working for the
Kingdom no matter your age, this is the book for you.
You
can watch a very entertaining book trailer and get an idea of the
energy these sisters have here.
My
rating: 5/5 stars.
The
Kandels -Kris, Karen, Kathie, and Linda – are four sisters who
write, speak, and teach together. They are sisters in Christ and best
friends. They share a common goal, writing to make a difference. The
four have over one hundred years of combined teaching experience. The
Kendals believe that you can leave a career but never God's calling.
If you're not dead, you're not done.
