Biblical Finances by Lisa D Pedriel Blog Tour Book Review

About the Book

Book: Biblical Finances Jesus Christ: The Financial Advisor

Author: Lisa D. Pedriel

Genre: Christian, Christian living, Finance, Wealth Management

Release Date: May 3, 2023

The objective of this book is to help readers manage their finances using biblical standards and principles. The main benefit of doing this is that our finances will be built on a sure foundation (Isaiah 33:6), which is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Word. Jesus is concerned about every aspect of our lives, and the management of our finances is no exception. Throughout His Word, He gives us advice on how to get and manage the wealth He has made available to us. Therefore, it is imperative that we study the scriptures and apply them to our lives and finances. In summary, this book looks at wealth and finances from a biblical perspective.

My Review

This is a small but powerful book. It is the most biblical, reasonable and practical book I have read on finances in some time. I was surprised at Pedriel using the story of Joseph's work during the seven fat and lean years to give a basis for storing up for the future. (I have read some books suggesting any kind of financial savings is a lack of faith in God.) She likewise refers to the parable of the talents to advocate for investments, reminding us Ecc. 11:2 instructs us to be diversified. She uses the parable of counting the cost when building a tower to advocate for keeping a budget.

Pedriel's instruction on understanding what Scripture teaches us about finances is a refreshing voice. I appreciate her emphasis on seeking the leading of the Holy Spirit in all aspects of dealing with money. With that in mind, she has an inspiring prayer at the end of each chapter. And I really appreciate her leaving readers with a reminder of the most important riches we can ever have are those we have in Christ.

My rating: 5/5 stars.
