Escaping the Cauldron by Kristine McGuire

Kristine was saved as a child and was raised in a church culture that demanded perfection. She went to a Christian college and married a Christian man.
During a difficult time I her marriage, Kristine went looking for something more, a new spiritual experience. “Exploring the occult was a chance to break the mold I was used to being in.” (5) Yielding to temptation felt liberating.
During the eight years she was involved with the occult, she would be convicted, at times. She would get rid of her occult stuff and put on her religious mask. But the shallow decision would not stick and soon she was back on her supernatural power trip. She was teaching in a Christian preschool during the day but at home was worshiping the goddess.
Yet God never abandoned her. The Holy Spirit pursued her and ultimately she made the decision to return to Christ. She wants others to know the dangers involved so is now sharing her story.

Kristine explored Wicca. She hunted ghosts. She saw visions of spiritual beings. She was involved in “Christian witchcraft,” a small magical movement within the church.
She writes about the experiences bringing her back to reaffirming her faith in Christ and the struggle she had – for months – and her ultimate deliverance.

Kristine learned the hard way that Christians are not excluded from deception. She has included in the book a section on Christians and the occult, how to respond, how to help someone deal with the paranormal, the dangers of dabbling in the occult, etc.
Kristine reminds us that the enemy is clever. Reading this book will help you understand some of his techniques. Kristine notes that many people who are dabbling don't even know they are doing so.

A gentle warning: Kristine takes the reader through many of her experiences. If you retain impressions when reading about occult experiences, this may not be a book for you.
